On this, the last day of 2012, I look back at highlights from my year. Here’s what happened.
January
In January, I…
recycled
and lost at Scrabble.
February
In February, I…
built Echo Base.
March
In March, I…
watched Van Halen destroy Boston (woo!)
and celebrated my boy’s birthday.
April
In April, I…
visited the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,
and tried Butterbeer (frozen is best).
May
In May, I…
got awesome.
June
In June, I…
fed the fish,
was told, “No, you may not buy that,”
was told, “No, you may not buy that,”
and cooked dinner in a scotch box oven.
July
In July, I…
celebrated America’s birthday,
tried maple bacon ice cream (it’s awesome),
went upside down,
and got down onto the field.
August
In August, I…
went fishing with three generations,
saw a butter sculpture,
visited a castle in the clouds (I couldn’t find Lando),
saw a huge horse,
went Shaker,
got wet
and got out of a tight spot.
September
In September, I…
hit the lake one last time before it got too cold,
stopped at Wonderland,
got the “loser cruiser” all nerded out,
said goodbye to the kids
and felt disappointed.
October
In October, I…
got nerdy,
hung out with some cute chicks,
got lost
and built a toolbox.
November
In November, I…
hung out with my sisters at the wedding,
got fancy,
regretted giving the camera to a 9-year-old
and saw The Nutcracker.
December
In December, I…
made cookies,
tormented the dog,
raced reindeer,
tormented the dog
and lastly thanked my lucky stars for every single moment. On New Year’s Eve it’s appropriate to think about time. We’re all issued a finite amount. As such, it’s the most precious thing we have. Time. May you enjoy yours.
