Paper for iPad

Paper is a good-looking, no-frills drawing app for the iPad (free with in-app purchases). The demo video‘s hipster vibe is way over-the-top (it makes an OK Go! video look like an insurance seminar), but the app is fun. In the few minutes that I’ve owned a copy, I’ve:

  1. Purchased a stylus.
  2. Convinced myself that I can draw beautifully.

Well done, FiftyThree. Well done.

What no app could do

Illustrator Luc Latulippe and his partner Doug  have created a simple spreadsheet to track their monthly spending. It hangs on their refrigerator for easy expense recording. Luc writes:

“No ‘app’ has managed to do for us what this simple sheet of paper has.”

They’ve made it available as a PDF, Excel and Numbers document. I’m customizing one for my household in Numbers right now.
